70% home foreclosures in the African Community, why is 3rd Ward Ald. Pat Dowell The only One speaking out!

70% home foreclosures in the African Community, why is 3rd Ward Ald. Pat Dowell The only One speaking out about the 2,500 Home Foreclosure on!

WOW! As I drive around the 18 African American Alderman Wards I saw hundreds of homes boarded–up properties, but I never really paid attention to it until I listen to 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell raise the issue a few days ago. Now I don’t know if she is raising this issue because she feels the foot steps of Young Tillman or what, but at least she is raising it? This is the kind of issue that if all 18 aldermen should be speaking out on.  This issue imagine what an impact they would have if they were collectively as a unit with one voice it would have such an impact on our community.

See before I go messing with any other ward I judge it by the Sixth Ward just drive down St. Lawrence, Rhodes, Champlain, and Evans from 75th to 99th and just count the number of home boarded up in our ward. Now if Ald. Lyle’s stepped out side of her own home on her block and look around she could see the problem first hand. Just look at her own Ward she could see the problem is SERIOUS, but do she care I submit that she don’t why should she care she is doing ok and her friends are doing ok so that’s all that matter.

Chicago in 8 days we march to the polls to vote,

Chicago in 8 days we march to thee polls to vote for the leadership for the next four years, but this morning as you read my blog I want to play a name game with you and tell me is this what Chicago is really all about. Daley's, Madigan's, Burke's, Sawyer's, Jackson's, Beaver's, Tillman, Cullerton's Stroger's, Hine's, and I can think of about 10 or 20 more family but you get my point I hope. Why is Chicago politics controlled by a few political families.

I know that out of the millions of people in Business, The Arts, Labor, or just regular honest people there is a collection of Good Willing people that can come together and make government work for the people of Chicago. Now If you think that these few groups of families knows what's best for us then keep on doing what we been doing and we'll keep on getting what we been getting NOTHING, no access to contracts, no job, no protection (Oh, Burke has protection, he has six police protecting him, count it 6 police protecting him). While the neighborhood go unprotected or our kids get shot waiting on school bus. People please aren't you "sick and tired of being sick and tired".

Fact check time inorder for Ald. Burke to have 6 police protecting him our 18 African American aldermen had to vote for it, they don't even have enough sense to protect their own community. People think about this for one minute ok, if we had the salaries that 4 of those police were paid in a substance abuse program could we have helped someone, people if we had the salaries that 4 of those police were paid in a Domestic abuse program do you think we could helped someone, people if we had the salaries that 4 of those police were paid in a After-school  abuse program do you think we could have helped some children.

On Tuesday when you go to vote I am encouraging you to please go and vote but please use your common sense don't count on the :30 second sound bites but think and read and look at the neighborhood that you are walk through or riding through and ask can't we do better and look at the alterantive candidate becasue we know the the current top down sha given us for the past during four years NOTHING!!!

Today's Blog is entitled The Chicago's Families Name Game!

In the sixties we use to play a children's game call the "Name Game" They play that same game in Chicago politics they play a name game to it called “These families Run Chicago " some of the families allowed to play in this game are the; Daley's Madigan's, Beaver's Jackson’s Burke's Sawyer's, Tillman's, Cullerton's, Stroger's,  and I could name a lot more but these are some of the main player. Now they allow a few of the tokens to play in the game to make it look or appear fair but when it comes to control of the main money (The Billions) no way are the tokens going to come close to messing with their money!!!

Fact check time: one of the token families just a few months ago toyed with running for mayor, first her hubby toyed with wanting to run but he got caught up in D.C. so he offered up the Miss and she toyed with it but decided she want the clerks job (Clerk means what the Revenue) no way was they going to allow her around their money so she backed off and decided to rerun for her ward seat against another family that's connected (The Beaver's) so now we have one inside family fighting another inside family for a ward seat, forget the big money and the good they could have done  downtown.

Why am I wasting your time talking about this well in a few short days many of these people are going to telling you about the many wonderful thing they have done for you over the past 48 months, or 1,499 days, 35,712 hour as your elected official. As you leave your home I want you to stop and just look around you and your community and ask yourself do they deserve another 48 months, or 1,499 days, 35,712 hour close to $200, Thousand dollars as your elected official for the next four years if you love not being able to walk down 79th street or 87th street or South Shore. or Madison Street, or 103rd Michigan in (Roseland) pick any neighborhood, if you are happy with your neighborhood condition then do what you been doing and vote for these same of families and their connected pals. However, I can beat over the next four years we are going to get the same old mess we been getting NOTHING!!

·        No Access City Contract
·        No Police protection
·        Or Slow Police Protection
·        No Metal Health Protection (Look at the first CUTS Preckwinkle made today)
·        No access to quality schools.
·        No access to job.
People all I am saying is Use Your Common Sense on Tuesday February 22nd we deserve better and we can make a difference in Chicago. TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND Let’s shut down the FAMILY NAME GAME IN CHICAGO !!!

9 Days from today thousands of African Americans will go to the polls to Vote!

As I sat down to pen this blog I asked myself the following; Ok what has the current 18 African Americans Aldermen done in the following five areas to improve the life of African American’s as a hold in Chicago not on their block or in their little click or their family, but the whole community?
  • Employment  - Over 50% between the ages of 18 to 30
  • Education  - 67 % of the CPS Students dropping out
  • Economic development – Over 1000 vacant lots in the 18 wards, While businesses close.
  • Crime prevention – Crime in the 18 wards are out of control
  • City Budget – how did your alderman vote on the parking meter lease?  Did if help reduce the City budget deficit?
Now before someone say I am putting out false information for the record ONLY Alds. Toni Preckwinkle (4th), Leslie Hairston (5th) voted against parking meter deal,  Over the past fours since the current 18 alderman’s have held office what as a group of 18 done to address the five areas listed above for the whole African American community.

I am asking you to look at your alderman as an individual. I want you to look at them in respect of the condition of African America’s in the City of Chicago. Now if you can fairly look at your current alderman based on the five areas above and then as a group of 18 aldermen a unit up against the five areas then cast your vote.  The whole lot should be thrown out of office and we start over. I can assure there are people that are currently serving as alderman many of whom I like as a human being but it’s not about my feeling right now it’s about will mine and your  grandchildren have a better life in Chicago than we have experienced over the 50 plus years of living in Chicago.

Several people friends and others have ask me why do I sound so mad well I am not mad, “What am is sick and tired of being sick and tired” I spend a lots of time in school, as well as working with many community groups and I see the damage that the current leadership in this town is doing in the name of helping us while really only looking out for themselves and they few friends.

Please people Harold Melvin said it best on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 we can “Wake Up Everybody” Chicago has not seen really equality of services or resources’ since Harold Washington served. Are we not entitle to our fair share of city contract, police protection, clear streets from Streets and Sanitation, CPS, mental health services. As I draw to a close I ask you to think about the following and ask yourself before you cast that vote on Tuesday February 22nd.

Before you cast your vote look at your ward and then ask yourself why don’t your ward look like the following wards; 1.2. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 50, etc. I could list all of the other people wards but that’s not what I want you to focus on. I want our wards to have the same promising conditions in our wards.

Why I feel We Need A Change of Alderman in the Sixth Ward on Feb 22nd.

My opening Blog is gonging to be about the Sixth Ward, I have lived or work in the Chatham Community for the past 20 years, I have watched the community under former alderman John Steele's leadership when the sixth ward was the shining place to live. During the tenure of current Alderman Freddrenna Lyle we have seen a continual  decline of our community services, business development, and increase of crime the ravel the Saint Valentine's Day Era. However, if you live on the "right side" of Sixth Ward you don't have to worry about city services. We need a Alderman that willing to roll up their sleeves and get in the heart of the fight to save our Ward..Now some people would thing that I might be being unfair to the current Alderman Lyle's but we have watched two decades of her having the job. I don't think she is going to get any better over the next four years if she hasn't done anything over the past ten years. All I am saying is give someone else a chance!!!  I know there are going to be those out there that think Mrs. Lyle's is the best thing that has ever happen to the SixthWard will I submit that she is and I cn promise you that there is better in this race willing to step up and lead us out of this mess that we find our self in at this time as we currently live in.
